Trick or Treat

I used a Scrapbook Generation Volume 1 sketch for my layout. The black cardstock is from Recollections. The orange cardstock is from Bazzill. The patterned paper and journaling card are from Fancy Pants Designs. I cut the title and stars out on the Silhouette using designs from their store. The orange ric rac is from my stash. I had a lot of pictures of Halloween, so I wanted to keep the layout a little on the simple side.

1 Great Day layout

I was inspired by the Scrap Fit Workout #68 to create this layout using spray mist.  I used it on the flowers, the title and the journaling tag.  I used a Scrapbook Generation volume 1 sketch for this layout. The background glimmer cardstock is from DCWV. The patterned paper My Mind’s Eye. The tag is from my stash and I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. The striped hearts are from Fancy Pants Designs. I cut the hearts, flowers and title out using my Silhouette and designs from their store. The cardstock for the title is from Bazzill that I sprayed with Mister Huey spray inks and some Perfect Pearls Mist. I used my Imaginisce petal roller on the flowers for more dimension. Finally the brads are from my stash (I think they are from American Crafts). The chipboard button is from my stash and I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist to change the color.

You + Me = <3 layout

When I started this layout I used a Page Maps sketch from January 2011. I used the Be Mine Collection from My Mind’s Eye. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the journaling card. The hearts were cut on my Silhouette using a design from their store that I altered. The flower trim is from Paper Wishes. I then used my Sew Easy, a paper piercer and DMC floss to add the stitching. I added Glossy Accents to the small red hearts and the pink heart on the title. I made sure that I added nine hearts to this layout to tie the layout back to the journaling about our upcoming 9th Wedding Anniversary.

Love You (a S:CY Layout)

TGIF!!! I love Fridays because that is when we have the sketch reveals over at Sketches: Creatively Yours. This week’s sketch is from Ali and I can see myself using this one over and over again!
SCY Sketch 16-12 DUE May 23 for May 25
I changed this sketch up some to work with this photo. I used a vertical picture instead of the horizontal one in the sketch. I then flipped the sketch horizontally so that the main picture would be on the left side.

The patterned paper is from My Mind’s Eye. The cardstock is from Bazzill and DCWV. I cut the title and heart flourish on the Silhouette using designs from their store. The rub-ons are from Scenic Route and Daisy D. I wanted to add more emphasis to the heart so I used my paper piercer and followed the design with hand stitching. I used my Tim Holtz paper distresser on the photo mat and the cream paper for more texture. The journaling is actually song lyrics in the song “Lucky” by Jason Mraz.
Thank you for checking out my layout, now make sure you check out S:CY and see what the design team has come up with. They are always surprising me! Also you should create your own layout with this sketch and share it with us!

On The Hunt (digi layout)

On The Hunt
So I created this layout for a challenge on Club CK called the Chinese Whispers Group 2 for April. It is like a scrapping telephone game. The first person gets a sketch or some inspiration and creates a layout and then sends their layout to the next person on the list and so on. Then at the end all the layouts get posted so we can see how much changed throughout the process.
For this layout I used the following Kits: Chloe, Homeward Bound Red Paper and Elements, Grunge Frames and Crazy Little Thing.

I used a Page Maps sketch from October 2011 for this layout. The new challenge at Unique Crafters Challenge was to use ribbon and/or fibers so I added some trim to my layout. I cut the title out on the Silhouette using cardstock from American Crafts and Recollections. I then added red stickles to the heart. Together Forever (a S:CY layout)

I really love it when I see a sketch and I instantly know what pictures would be perfect. It was like that for this week’s sketch over at Sketches: Creatively Yours. I just knew what I wanted to do with this layout, but I have to say that the final layout is even better than I thought it would be.
SCY Sketch 15-12 DUE May 9 for May 11
And here is my layout from this sketch.

The patterned paper that I used here are from Basic Grey (collections: Kioshi, Wassail and Hello Luscious). The cardstock is from Bazzill. The rub-ons are from Fancy Pants and Scenic Route. The trim is from Paper Wishes (ivory lace) and American Crafts (small flowers). I did decide to move the trim to the bottom of the layout because with the trim that I picked out and the large photo it just looked better at the bottom.
It seems like I don’t have many pictures of the hubby and me, so I am determined to take more pictures of us together, especially when we go places!  Now come on over to S:CY and see what the wonderful design team has created and while you are there, play along with the sketch!

This is My Family

I have been loving the doily trend lately and I really wanted to add them on this layout, especially since it is the the challenge on Scrap Fit right now.  I used a Scrapbook Generation Volume 1 sketch for this layout. The grey cardstock is from Doodlebug. The patterned paper is from My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline Collection. The doilies are from Paper Wishes that I sprayed with silver Perfect Pearls Mist. The key is from K&Company. I cut the flowers and title out on the Silhouette using designs from their store.

For the flowers, I sprayed them with silver Perfect Pearls Mist and then used my Imaginisce petal roller to give the flower some much need dimension. The brads in the middle are from Making Memories.

For the journaling shape, I used a Kaisercraft Stamp and grey ink and stamped it on a piece of My Mind’s Eye paper before fussy cutting it.

Mother’s Day Blog Hop!!

Welcome to my blog!  I am so excited to be apart of this fabulous blog hop today.  You should have reached me from Heather’s Blog.  If not, then make sure to head back to Amanda’s Blog and start at the beginning.  I don’t want you to miss out on any of the fabulous projects being shown today!

So I am sharing the two Mother’s Day presents that I made this year.  First up is the adorable slate wall hanging that I made for my mom.

So for this I started with the piece of slate that I bought at a local craft store and then added the quote using my Silhouette and three colors of vinyl.  I then added two coats of clear sealer on top.  Here is a close up of the saying.

This next project is for my Mother-in-law.

I bought this 9 picture folding frame from a local craft store.  I painted it a dark brown and then ivory.  Next I sanded the edges so you could see some of the brown.  I then used modge podge to add the glittery ivory paper that I bought at Jo-Ann’s a while back.  After the modge podge was dry I added gold stickles to replace the silver glitter.  I then added the pictures that I took of my daughter with a blank sign and added the words in Photoshop Elements after editing the pictures.

I finished this off with flowers from Recollections, the twine from The Twinery, the key and circle embellishment from K & Company, and the dazzlers from Hot off the Press.

I colored the buttons on the flowers and the circle metal embellishment with my gold metallic marker from American Crafts.

Thank you so much for checking out my fun Mother’s Day gifts.  Make sure to leave a comment to be entered for the little prize that I am giving away!  If you become a new follower or already are one then leave a second comment letting me know.  Now you are off to Kelly’s Blog!  I will announce a winner on Monday, May 7th, 2012!
