Better at the Beach (Inspired Blueprints)

Today sketch #115 is up over at Inspired Blueprints.  For this sketch I changed it up quite a bit.  I added the patterned paper layers and I also changed it into a two page layout.  I used the sketch for the right hand side of the sketch and then stretched it by adding more pictures to the left side and moving the title over there, so I could use a larger title.

Make sure to head over to IB and upload your take on their sketches to be entered to win a prize!

Everyday Moments

There are times when I start to notice trends in my scrapbooking.  Lately (as of when I created this layout) I was using a lot of these softer colors.  I guess it had to do with what I not only have in my stash, but the type of pictures I have been working on.  I have been scrapbooking spring of 2013.   Another thing I am loving is using these sequins lately.  I ordered a bunch from Paper Issues because they have grab bags for only $1.00.  I think I bought all of them!  Now that I have them all sorted and organized by color, I am loving adding them for just little pops around my page.

Growing Up (MDL hybrid layout)

Mye De Leon has teamed up with Anita Designs to create this adorable kit called Childhood.  I just love, love, love the colors in this kit!  Since I mostly scrap my daughter, this colors are just perfect for her.

I started looking for the perfect photo to use with this kit when I stumbled across this cute picture of my daughter towards the end of last school year.  I am so happy that her teacher did this for all of the students.

Growing Up

I love the flowers that Mye adds into her kit.  And in this kit the word art and stamps were even better!  I loved adding them into this layout.

Dear Santa (MDL layout)

The other new holiday release from Mye De Leon is the kit called Wish Come True.  This kit is made up of more traditional Christmas colors.  So it went perfectly with this year’s Santa picture.

I love using the print & cut feature of the Silhouette.  I also use the trace feature to print & cut the elements that Mye De Leon makes.  This makes using her supplies for traditional scrapbooking so easy!

Christmas Gift Box

Mye De Leon has released some pretty awesome kits lately.  When I first saw her kit Peppermint Wishes, I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to use it, but it was so totally adorable that I couldn’t wait to use it.  I downloaded this cute triangle box from the Silhouette Store during their big after Thanksgiving sale.  I thought it would look great as a holiday box made with this super cute digital kit.

Delightful Easter Morning

I love all the 3x4 cards that come with a lot of paper collections now.  I managed to use 8 of them on this one layout and pretty much no other patterned paper.    I like that I was able to use 6 pictures on this one layout.

IB #112: These are the Days

Welcome to another fabulous sketch release on the Inspired Blueprints blog.  Make sure to swing by to see what the amazing design team created.  Also, make sure you play along for a chance at the prize!

This week’s sketch is for 1 photo.  When I saw the sketch I knew what photo I wanted to use.  I also knew that with the bright pink in the photo this would be a great chance to use some of my bright summery papers.

These are the Days

I only made some slight changes when making this layout.  I added a larger title, so I moved it over.  I also added an extra strip of paper behind the photo for an extra little pop of yellow.

Welcome Home C-Max

This is one of those layouts that looks great, but is really on the more simplistic side.  I managed to fit so many pictures on this layout and I wanted the focus to be on the pictures, that I kept the embellishments to a minimum.  Another thing that I really like is all of the tone on tone parts of this layouts.  The color palette is all very neutral.

Time to Sell Cookies

Every time I work on a hybrid layout I end up printing and cutting extra elements that I can use on future pages.  On this layout I used several flowers from various Mye De Leon kits.  I love all the dimension that in these flowers and I add extra dimension by adding foam squares behind the flowers.  It really helps them to pop!

Inspired Blueprints sketch 111

This week’s sketch over at Inspired Blueprints took me a little bit to figure out how I wanted to use it.  I had these three pictures waiting to be scrapbooked, but they didn’t exactly match the photo sizes on the sketch.  But no problem, because I used the sketch as a starting point and re-worked it some to better fit my pictures.

I hope you will head over to the Inspired Blueprints blog to see the fabulous inspiration from the design team.  Make sure to play along for your chance at this month’s prize.

Hungry like a Shark

I loved this paper by Fancy Pants when it first came out, but I hadn’t found pictures that would work with it until I got around to scrapping these.  I also was able to use lots of little goodies that have become some of my favorite go-to embellishments including wood veneers and enamel dots.

One thing I have been trying to make good use of lately is all of my alpha stickers that have been slowly accumulating over the last few years.  On this layout I managed to use three different alphas on this layout.

Thank you to everyone who visiting my blog during the Fall Blog Hop! I loved reading everyone's comments.

According to random.org, the lucky comment was #2...

Becky, send me your email address and I will get your prize in the mail within the next week.

And to answer your question, I think we will put the leaves in a stack next to the basket and as people write on them we will add them to the basket.  Maybe after the holiday I will put together a little album of the filled in cards.

Welcome to the Fall Blog Hop

Congratulations!  You have almost reached the end of this blog hop.  I am sure you have seen some pretty amazingly inspiring fall projects so far.  I am excited to share my project with you.  You should have just come from Laurie’s Blog.  If not, then head over to Mandi’s blog to get started at the beginning.

I created my project using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used some cut files from their store to create this leaf basket and the leaves that are filling it.  I also used their sketch pens to add a sentiment to the leaves.

Fall Blog Hop 1

I created this project to go on our Thanksgiving table.  I thought it would be so cute for people to write on the back of the leaves things that they are thankful for.

Fall Blog Hop 2

I have a little Webster’s Pages giveaway for a lucky visitor.

The Story From Today (Inspired Blueprints)

I love playing with the app called Instagram.  The only thing better is that I have been scrapping some of my favorites!  This week’s sketch from Inspired Blueprints works perfectly with the square sized photos.

I moved my journaling to the folder and added extra embellishments, but otherwise just stuck to the sketch.

Good Times Adorable Girl (Inspired Blueprints)

There is another fabulous sketch up at Inspired Blueprints.  I love that this one uses two 4x6 pictures.  When I saw these two adorable pictures of my daughter, I knew I wanted to use them!

I stayed pretty close to the sketch and and just added extra embellishments to make the sketch work for me.  I added extra dimension by using adhesive foam square to several of the embellishments.

Hungry Tourist

I have been having a blast creating single page layouts lately, but I now have enough pictures for certain layouts that means that I have several two page layouts in the works.

This layout was a lot of fun to create and I really enjoyed playing with my Silhouette for all of the cuts for this layout.  I am really getting a lot of joy out of all my recent scrapbooking time.

Today Fun! (Mye De Leon)

I want to start this post off by saying that I usually use a sketch when I sit down to start a layout.  Mostly my layouts end up pretty varied from the sketch, but it gives my brain a direction to go.  I am bringing this up, because for all of these hybrid layouts I have been just printing the paper out in various sizes and then layering them together to start my layout.  This whole new process for me has taken me by surprise.  I guess this break from scrapbooking that I took due to our move has really been a good thing for my creativity.

I love the variety of elements that Mye De Leon puts into her collections.  There are word & saying strips, flowers, journal cards, wood letters and elements just to name a few.  It is like going through my whole stash to pull embellishments together, but Mye has them in one spot and they all look fabulous together! It has made for some speedy scrapbooking lately.

Little Swimmer (Inspired Blueprints #107)

I love Fridays, and this one is no exception!  Today is when the new sketches are released over at Inspired Blueprints.  I love how this layout quickly came together.  This was my first traditional paper layout after the move and it caused me to do some re-arranging in my space, but that is to be expected as I start creating more.

I hope that you will head over to the Inspired Blueprints blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has created!  Make sure to play along with this week’s sketch for your chance to win a prize!
