You are my Sunshine

I have had some free time between Design Team projects lately and I have been enjoying just creating layouts for fun.   I love all my design teams, but there is just something so enjoyable about going back to creating a layout and letting my creativity take me anywhere.

Originally I had planned on creating two layouts with these five photos, but when I pulled them out, I decided to find a way to get them all onto one single-page layout.    I just love how this layout turned out and showcases my goofy girl.  It has become hard to get a normal smiling picture of her.

My Happy Girl (LCOM)

Today I am excited and sad.  I am excited to share this layout featuring sketch #17 over at Let’s Capture our Memories.  I loved, loved, loved working with this sketch.  I am also sad, because this is my last layout for Let’s Capture our Memories Design Team.  I wasn’t sure if I would have the time to meet all the requirements, so I figured it was better to step down instead of letting the team down.  I hope to apply to their design team in the future and I will play along with the new sketches when I have the time.  Now for the real reason why you are here…to see a cute layout!

Star Student

I was so happy to get a letter home from my daughter’s school following Spring Break letting me know that she was selected as Citizen of the Month for March in her class.  Each month they have a special word to work on and for March it was Cooperation.  Her teacher had some really nice things to say about her.  I am so proud of her.

I took a couple of pictures and really wanted to create a layout about it, and I knew this kit by Mye De Leon would be perfect!  I used a sketch from The Paper Bakery.

I really love how this layout turned out.  It took me quite a while to get it all finished, but I really love how much the focus is on the pictures.

Oh Snap (Inspired Blueprints)

I love Fridays!  Not only is it the start of the weekend, which for me means lots of family time, but because it is on Fridays that the new sketches are up at Inspired Blueprints.  This week is no exception.
This week, I stayed pretty true to the sketch, but I did add a piece of 6x6 patterned paper behind the photo.

List for Santa

I know it seems a little weird to be posting about Santa when it is almost summer-like here, but I always seem to scrap about 3-4 months back at any given time.

Since I made a December mini album about last Christmas, I decided that I am not to going to create 12x12 layouts as well…but these pictures are the exception.  I loved how my daughter wrote out her list to share with Santa.  What was even better, is the photographer made sure to take a picture while they were talking over the list.

Blogging Vacation

I am so sorry that I haven’t had anything new to share with you the last few weeks.  I have been busy creating projects and tutorials for the upcoming issue of Cutting Edge Magazine.  The new issue will go live on May 1st.  There will be a ton of fabulous projects and great tutorials.

I have also been working on projects for Inspired Blueprints, Let’s Capture our Memories and Mye De Leon in the last few weeks.  I am excited to start sharing those.

I also have some news to share.  It turns out that we will be moving again this summer.  I will be heading back to Seattle for a year while my husband goes on an unaccompanied tour.  So this means that there will be another break this summer while I am moving.  But first, I hope to spend some time scrapbooking so I can share a whole bunch of new layouts.  I hope that I get some time to scrap soon.  Maybe some new photos will be the ticket to more creating for me!

Hello Spring Card (Cameo Creations)

There is a new challenge up at Cameo Creations today.  Welcome Spring and use some glitter too!

Several things came together to inspire me to create this card.  I saw this adorable shaped card base and knew that I wanted to use it!  I am a sucker for artisan shapes.  I have been loving all of the various 3x4 cards in the Silhouette Studio store lately and I knew this “Hello” one would be just perfect! I paired it with a layered flower and the word spring.

Hi card for LCOM

Welcome to another Saturday post for Let’s Capture our Memories!  Today sketch #14 is up on their blog.  We are also at the beginning of card month over at LCOM, and I hope you will join us!  It seemed only fitting that I create a card this week.

Would you believe that I used 8 different patterns of paper on this card?  I love how it all came together!  I used a My Mind’s Eye 6x6 pad for this card and I think that helped, since the scale of the designs are smaller.
