Mye De Leon has released some cute products today and has even more coming out tomorrow. I combined a couple of different summer kits to make this adorable card. I love how all these fun colors came together to make this adorable card.

Over the last weekend we adopted a sweet little dog from the animal shelter. He has been part of our family since Monday and we are slowly getting settled into life again. His name is Shaker and he is just a super sweet boy.
He has been keeping me busy during the days as we try to settle into a new routine. He doesn’t like being left alone right now, so it has made for a lot of time at home.

Last week I was on a digital kick working on projects for the fabulous Mye De Leon. I just loved working with these kits. What is even better is just how many kits I was able to pull parts from to work on this single layout. Combining digital kits is just like digging through all your traditional supplies finding things that work together.

There are two very special men in my family that have/are serving in the Military.
My grandfather served in World War II as part of the Army Air Corp. While growing up, I always loved and looked up to him, but it wasn’t until my husband joined the Army that we even really talked about his service. During the eight years that my husband was in the Army while he was alive we had many long conversations about the military. I more that I learned from him, the more respect I had for him. It has been almost a year since I lost him, and I still miss him every single day. For so many years I thought of him as just my grandfather, so when he received his military honors at his funeral, it caught me by surprise. I was so proud of his service to our country, but I will admit that having my husband still serving it was hard to sit through that part of the service.
In a couple of months, my husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. This fall will mark his 9th year in the Army. I am so proud of his service. He has been on three deployments that were each a year long, there has also been various military schools, training sessions that have kept us apart. He is one of the strongest men that I know. The military isn’t always the easiest of lives, but I know he is very proud to serve and I am proud to stand by his side.
So today, on Memorial Day, I think of not only the soldiers currently serving, but all of those who have served our wonderful country. Soldiers might now always agree with the politics, but they do their job and know that doing that job might just come at the cost of their lives. That is a price they are willing to pay. So, please take a moment today to think of all of those who have served or are currently serving. And don’t forget about all of us civilians that love our soldiers, because they aren’t the only ones who pay the price of service.

There is just something so fun about getting to work with Mye De Leon’s new releases before they are well…released. Last Friday she released some Wide Washi tape and I just swooned for it! What can I say, I am a little obsessed with washi tape in my paper scrapping, so of course I am going to love it in the digital world too! I combined a bunch of different kits for this layout and even used a new sketch from The Paper Bakery.

It is another blog post about mixed feelings. I am really excited to share this adorable project for the new challenge up at Cameo Creations today. However, I am sad because it has come time for me to step down from their design team. I have had the best time working with such an amazing group of women! It is with a heavy heart that I say good-bye to this great group, but I have doubts that I would be able to give the next term 100% with so many things with this move up in the air still. I hope to find sometime to play along with the new challenges in the future.
Now back to the fun stuff…this adorable project for the new challenge of flowers. I hope you will play along!
Now some close-ups:
