Build 4 Fun!

Normally I don’t have much masculine supplies on hand, but luckily for me I created this layout while at my scrapbook weekend, which always involves a shopping trip, so I grabbed quite a bit of masculine papers on clearance.  Since I don’t end up buying a whole line this way, it means I end up mixing various paper companies and lines until I like the mix that I have for my layout.  It is times like this that really gets my creativity flowing!

Wonderful & Lovely

The colors on this page just make me so happy!  I love the mix of the bright girly colors on the washed out wood background.  The other thing I love…besides the background piece of patterned paper all of this was done with a few sheets from a 6x6 pad.  It has been a goal to use more of my 6x6 pads this year since I am trying to use up some of my scrap stash.

I <3 Us!

Do you know what my favorite part of this page is?  It is the photos and not because they are great photos, because they are not, but it is because I am in the photos.  These photos are showing my daughter and me together, just hanging out and that is what makes them special.  So go-ahead and get in front of the camera, because who cares if the pictures aren’t perfect, they show life and how often is life truly “perfect”.

Baker in Training

What do you do when you have Christmas pictures to scrap and no Christmas paper?  Well, for this page I pulled together some other papers that I had just purchased at a craft store on clearance.  Now I am on the hunt for a Christmas collection that I like.  I really love how this page turned out with all the cute little embellishments.

Are We Lost?

One new thing I have been doing this year is to use navy cardstock as my background.  I love the contrast between the dark blue and the wood patterned paper.  These patterned papers make me happy because I love that they have a fall vibe without all of the brown and orange that usually are in seasonal papers.

Wood Burn Baby

I was lucky enough to get away for a long scrappy weekend last month.  During the weekend I managed to finish an impressive 15 layouts and I am sharing one of them today.  Since some of them are for Design Team assignments it will be awhile before all of them are revealed.
One of the biggest changes that happened on my scrappy weekend is that I didn’t use any scrapbook sketches unless it was a part of the design team assignment.  Now there is nothing wrong with using sketches, in fact I have been using them for years now, but it felt so freeing to be able to grab some paper and photos and just sit down and create a page that I totally loved.
I snapped this picture last winter and it has been one of my favorites because I love having a wood burning fireplace in the winter.  I love the sound of the wood burning and the smell just makes me feel at home.

Picture This–Smile 4 a Fun Fall

This challenge was hard for me at first, it is:

2 Photos + Fall Colors + Monochromatic

So I grabbed this two photos and they sat on my desk for a long time.  Luckily, I went to a fun scrapbooking weekend with friends and I was able to pull this all together (after a quick shopping trip).  I really love how this turned out and once I sat down with the right supplies it all just came together!
