Dad’s Girl

A little late, but I played along with a new Sketchy Saturday from Paper Issues and I am finally getting around to sharing my layout.

I also am linking this layout to the new issue up at Paper Issues featuring Enamel.

I went with a monochromatic feel with all of the aqua, but then added some pops of pink, because of course it is my daughter’s favorite color.  Instead of the circles that were in the sketch, I used this fun cut from the Silhouette store.

Life is better at the Beach

This is one of my happy pictures!  I took it last summer when I was visiting Santa Cruz, California.  I would be so happy just sitting on that bench and watching the ocean.

I created this layout for the design team call at Picture This! Challenges.  The challenge was to create a layout with 1 photo + corners + splatters.

I also am linking this layout to the new issue up at Paper Issues featuring Enamel.

Washi organization

Are you a washi tape addict like I am?  I currently have almost 200 rolls in my stash.  I keep my tape on a shelf behind my desk in two organizers that I made from old Project Life boxes.  I loved that I added dividers so that the rolls wouldn’t roll around, but both of my boxes were full and I didn’t have another box around to use.  So instead I convinced my husband to build me three boxes.

I had seen an idea of making drawer organizers using lathe boards from Home Depot.  Lathe boards are really cheap and they are made to be used in plaster walls.  Each board is 48 inches long and at my home depot were 35 cents a piece!  I had the backing laying around from a cheap piece of furniture.  So total price for all three of these was about $3.  Of course, my hubby HAD to have a nail gun, but oh well.

The boards do require a bunch of sanding, but for this project I just wanted them smooth enough so I won’t get any slivers.  I am so happy with how these turned out and the price was perfect.  Now I think my husband is wanting to make some for the kitchen drawers. Hmmm….I wonder what I might want him to make for me next!

I would love to see how you keep your tape organized!

They Have Grammy’s Heart Forever

This is one of my favorite layouts that I have created in a while.  My daughter “helped” me, mostly by standing over my shoulder and asking questions for the whole time.  This layout came together pretty quickly and it was just fun to make!!

Lucky You layout

I love, love, love how this layout came together.  I dug through my scrap drawer and pulled all of these papers together.  The first thing I did was create the shamrock background and cut out the title and then started pulling things together for the rest of the layout.

Although I don’t do Project Life, I couldn’t resist the Overlay Value Kit by Heidi Swapp.  I cut up two of the overlay cards and added the pieces to my layout.

I also am linking this layout to the new issue up at Paper Issues featuring Enamel.

Make a Wish Love layout

I saw the idea online somewhere to make a shaker pocket by using a sewing machine.  I bought a set of the Heidi Swapp Project Life embellishment kits that came with some of these “photo overlays”.  So I just had to sew it onto my page and fill it with some of these goodies.

I also am linking this layout to the new issue up at Paper Issues featuring Enamel.

The other thing I just adore about this layout is the background.  I used a heart cut file from Silhouette and made it fill the page and then used my silver sketch pen to add the hearts to the blue background paper.  It just adds a subtle fun detail to this layout.

What a Fabulous Job Today

My favorite part in creating this layout was all of the fun embellishments I was able to add to this layout.  Since I don’t create two page layouts that often, they usually take me longer to finish, but it is the best way to share many pictures in a single layout.

What a fabulous job today

Good Time layout

I created this layout for the new challenge up at Stuck?! Sketches.  I have loved their sketches for a while (in fact I have several on one of my pinterest boards.  So I am excited that I was finally able to play along.  Now that I am scrapping on a regular basis, I am finding that I am able to play along with challenges again.

I also am linking this layout to the new issue up at Paper Issues featuring Enamel.

I am also excited for this layout for another reason and that is because I was able to create a layout featuring this picture of some of my scrappy friends.  It is always a special time when we can get together!

Just Keep Running

I don’t usually have much (if any) masculine paper on hand, but I managed to find some great paper and fun embellishments to use on this layout.  I love that I can even use sequins on this layout about my husband.

I am so proud of my husband for many reasons, but for this layout it was for him running his first 10K.  I had so much fun creating this layout and I absolutely love how this turned out!
