This Family is Something Wonderful

This layout is for another challenge from the Super Bowl On-line Crop in the SG Scrap Squad group.  This one involved using the one-page sketch from the Scrapbook Generation Create Magazine from September 2015.  Instead of using patterned paper I decided to mix and match various washi tapes.  I kept the colors pretty muted.  I wanted to do a large title, but I didn’t want it to be too visually heavy on my page, so I used a sketch pen to dry my title on the page. I even did the title after I had added my washi tape and photo, so I knew exactly how much space I had on my page.

Birthday Star

There is a super fun Facebook Group called SG Scrap Squad and they hosted a Super Bowl On-line crop…and then you have two weeks to complete the challenges.  They had about 8 scrapbook challenges (as well as coloring and card challenges too) and I managed to complete 7 of them over the two weeks.  Now it is taking me even longer to share them here on my blog, but slowly and surely I will get them all posted.
This challenge was called the MVP challenge and had to feature stars.  So I grabbed two pictures of a birthday when I was a little girl and then had to work in some stars.  This one was so fun to work on!!

Happiness is You & Me Everyday

On Superbowl Sunday I took part in an online crop in the Scrapbook Generation’s Facebook group call the SG Scrap Squad.  This was the first official challenge that I participated in.  This is the “NFL” layout challenge.  I picked a Neutral color theme (white, kraft, black & gold), Foil & Frilly Doily, and Large title and Love title.
I was a little scared of the neutral palette, but in the end, I love how the focus is on my photos!  I just grabbed some papers and cut them down to create the layers.  I also discovered that I have a TON of gold in my stash!

#Go Play Ball (Scrap Our Stash)

There is a new Sketch Plus challenge up over at Scrap our Stash to play along with.  This sketch features 5 photos and lots of fun layers.
SOS FEBRUARY 2016 SKETCH 3 CHALLENGE
This sketch had me stumped for a minute, because I don’t have any printed photos in these sizes, so I decided to see what I already had printed small enough to work.  I found these of my daughter’s first time at a baseball game last spring, but the sizes were off and I had too many.  Well, this is why sketches are perfect…you don’t have to follow them exactly.  I keep the feel of the pictures the same, but added an extra patterned paper layer behind the photos on the right side to give it more visual weight like the sketch.  After adding lots of different pieces of patterned paper and all my photos, I really loved how it all came together.  For the lists I ended up adding: Dark Pink and Dear Lizzy, Ebony Ink and Echo Park, Fawn and Flair.

They Are Never Alone

This is a fun layout that I just create…just because.  There was no challenge, no sketch.  Just me wanting to play with paper and supplies to create a page.  I am determined to do more of this in 2016.  I really had so much fun mixing these papers and designs.

On The Move 2015

I have been on a scrapbook challenge kick lately, and this layout is no different.  This time I am playing along with the fun monthly sketch challenge at The ScrapRoom.   I loved all the patterned paper blocks in this sketch, but changed up my photos to have 2 vertical photos.  This one was such a fun page and sketch!

Grammy, You Make Me Happy (Stuck?! Sketches)

Happy Valentine’s Day (a little late, but close enough).  Laura has created another fabulous sketch over at Stuck?! Sketches.  I hope you will swing by the blog to see what the other ladies on the team have created.  Make sure to play along with the sketch for your chance at the fabulous prizes up for grabs!
Stuck 2-15
Here is a great sketch for a single 4x6 photo.  I really love having multiple photos on a page, but sometimes a single 4x6 is all you need for the story.  I stuck pretty close to the sketch this time.  Instead of the hearts, I used various circles and doilies.  I love the lacy texture that doilies add to my page.  As a finishing touch I added sequins to the top left and bottom right corners to complete the diagonal design I created with my photo and embellishments.

Adventure with You

The fabulous Laura, who is the sketch designer over at Stuck?! Sketches, is also on the design team for Imaginisce.  So of course I just had to play along with the sketch challenge for this month.  Now I will admit that I had no Imaginisce brand paper and embellishments…so after a quick order I had lots of yummy goodies to play with!

2016-02-07 08.53.58

I just adore the bright colors and fun patterns, they aren’t my normal style, but I noticed that I just keep reaching for these supplies over the last few days.  So this step outside my normal box has been a wonderful thing for me.  So finally here is my layout:

Adventure With You

I had a hard time just picking three patterns for my layout, so instead I grabbed a 6x6 pad and used 7 different patterns for this page.  I just love it!!!  Everything here is from Imaginisce except the title words and the enamel dots.  This page just makes me so happy!!

# Photo Bomb (A Scraproom Challenge)

I recently joined yet another Facebook Scrapbooking Group.  This one is for fans and subscribers to The ScrapRoom kits.  Last Friday was the first time I heard of a challenge they do called Freaky Fast Formula Challenge.  So this month they gave 6 dimensions to cut paper to and then you just layer them all together and add your own embellishments.
I had a really great time putting this whole layout together.  The hardest part was finding some scraps that I liked the look of when combined and that worked with my photo.  I am already looking forward to the next challenge!

My Darling Little MD (Scrap Our Stash)

It is time for a new book inspired challenge over at Scrap Our Stash.  It is another Dr. Seuss book this month.  I haven’t read this book before, at least that I remember, so I wasn’t too sure what I was going to use as inspiration.  I hope you will swing over to the blog and see what the design team has created so far, and make sure to play along for your chance to win this month’s prize!
SOS FEBRUARY 2016 BOOK INSPIRED STASH CHALLENGE
When I went through my printed photos, I found two pictures of my daughter when she was giving me care instructions for her stuffed frog with a “broken” leg.  Perfect!  These photos showed her caring nature and I was off and running.  I also loved the striped look of the background and decided to use this fun arrow cut file and filled each row of arrows with various stripped pattern papers.  Of course, I had to add at least two hearts, and I ended up with 3 of them.

Remember Pretty Moments

Welcome to February!  Today there is a new sketch challenge up on Stuck?! Sketches.  Laura did a fabulous job with this one.  Of course there are some fabulous prizes up for grabs, so make sure you play along for your chance to win!
Stuck 2-1
I really stuck close to the sketch on this page.  I had these three pictures of my daughter from a family photo shoot last summer and I really wanted to scrap them, plus I love playing with brighter colors in the cold, grey winter months here.
I usually avoid patterned paper like the background page, because I find them hard to use with other papers and with my photos.  This one is an exception though.  I covered up some of the circles, but it still works.  I love the variety of colors and sizes of those fun circles!
