Check Me Out!

This layout is for another challenge over at the SG Scrap Squad online crop that I participated in recently.  This challenge was to create a single page layout of any theme.  I had these three pictures of my nephew and husband photobombing me, so decided to get them scrapped.  I reached into some of my scraps and grabbed a bunch in black, white and red and mixed them all together to create this fun page.  This layout really came together quickly and I had so much fun creating this layout live during the crop!

Discover Birthday Fun

This is the last layout from the most recent SG Scrap Squad online crop that I was able to complete live.  After this one, I had to get my daughter from school and back to the real world.  This challenge gave us a list of color combos and we had to randomly select one.  I was lucky to select pink and aqua...which I love!  So I grabbed these picture of me when I was probably about 3 years old and found various pink and aqua papers to combine to create this page.  I then kept my title and embellishments in a vertical line down the center of the page.

Us @ 17

When I saw the new sketch challenge over at The Scrap Room, I couldn't resist playing along.  I flipped the sketch and instead of using a big square of patterned paper, I decided to add some gold color shine to my page in random messy stripes.  I also added a messy stack of 6x6 papers behind my two photos to create a fun photo mat.

There are days when I really can't believe that my husband and I have been together since we were 17 years old.  This year marks 15 years together.  Even though I was a photography student in high school and college, I have very few pictures of us together, so I love that I found these and were able to finally get them scrapped.  I think this might be one of my new favorite pages <3 .="" nbsp="" p="">

Santa Visit

A fun fun fun filled online crop with the facebook group, SG Scrap Squad, happened a little while ago and I had so much fun scrapping along with the challenges when they were posted throughout the day.  Challenge #4 was to scrap a holiday...any holiday.  So I took advantage and scrapped these cute pictures from this past Christmas.  Plus I got to play with some new patterned paper I had recently purchased...win, win!

Super 8 B-Day Smile (Scrap Our Stash)

It is time for a new sketch + supply challenge over at Scrap Our Stash. These challenges are always so much fun because I get the sketch for a starting off point and then use the supply chart to stretch my creative muscles.

SOS 3-15-16

When I saw the sketch and started flipping through my printed photos, I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw these pictures of my daughter’s last birthday.  I had more pictures than three printed, so when I went through them I decided that I could tell the story with just three photos.  From this list I used Graph paper from list one (it is black and white behind my photos), Heidi Swapp and Hearts from list two, and Ink and Ivory from list three (I inked the edges of my paper and used spray ink, also that “Dream” sticker is ivory).    I hope you will play along with this challenge for a chance to win!

An Exciting Announcement and Project Life pages

A few weeks ago I was asked to join the Project Life design team over at The ScrapRoom kit club.  I was so excited and more than a little intimidated. I have done project life in the past and now that the actual app is available on android has been released I have been playing and sharing those pages.  With this amazing opportunity I decided to just jump in with both feet and create some pocket pages.  Daily life around here has been busy yet boring, so for right now I have been using the pocket pages to create more of a regular style layout.

Today I am sharing two pages that I created using the current (March/April) kit.  I will be back in April to share two more pages that I created with this same kit.

Title: Best Day Ever
I loved the mix of the My Mind's Eye Hello Gorgeous cards with a few from Simple Stories Carpe Diem line. The enamel dots and shapes from My Mind's Eye add the perfect little touch. I loved the banner stickers that came on the Photo Play Like a Girl sticker sheet. The washi sheets and clips from Simple Stories Life in Color along with the Label stickers from the Carpe Diem line add the perfect finishing touches.

 Title: Good Stuff
I have so many pictures of my dog sleeping that I had a hard time narrowing it down to these seven. I combined two 4x6 journal cards and two 4x4 journal cards to create my own custom journal and title cards for this page. The cards are all from Simple Stories Life In Color Collection. I used some of the banner shapes from the Photo Play Like a Girl sticker sheet. The washi strip is from a Washi sheet from the Life In Color collection by Simple Stories. I added some label stickers from Simple Stories Carpe Diem along with some enamel shapes from My Mind's Eye Hello Gorgeous line. As a final touch I added the wood heart from my stash.

Thank you so much for joining me!

Thank My Lucky Stars

Challenge #2 at the online crop with the SG Scrap Squad was to create a layout using 3 green items from the provided list.  I used green washi tape, green patterned paper, green word sticker and green bling.  I really just love the bright colors and how this whole page turned out.  I usually add journaling to my pages, but I really thought that this title summed up the whole meaning behind the page.

Love This Place

This is another layout that I created for a challenge that was a part of the online crop hosted by SG Scrap Squad on Facebook.  There were a bunch of challenges over the three day crop and I have been busy trying to complete as many as I can.  This one was called the Irish Stew Challenge.  We had to pick something from each of the three categories.

I picked: Cardstock & Patterned Paper, Paint & Spray Ink, and Chipboard, Metal & Wood.  I created the background by painting white cardstock with two colors of acrylic paint and the adding some spray ink splatters on top.  I then created my layout on top with various patterned papers and embellishments.  I love how fun this page is!

A Painful Experience

Our lives are only made up of good times.  There are rough moments and hard times too.  I don't usually create layouts about the hard things, but this is one layout that I finally felt ready to make.  My husband had to have surgery to repair tendons in his ankle.  This really threw our family for a loop with all of the pain and length of recovery.  One of the pictures on the layout is of his ankle after surgery and is a little graphic, so just be warned.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame (Stuck?! Sketches)

There is a fun, new sketch challenge over at Stuck?! Sketches today.  Make sure to swing by to see what the designers have created this time!  There are two sponsors for this challenge…first up is a $25 gift card to Creative Embellishments and next is two large pieces of chipboard from Scrapmatts.  But you can’t win, if you don’t play along and link up your creation!
Stuck 3-15-16
I knew what pictures I wanted to use and what paper would be perfect…but I couldn’t narrow my pictures down to three…so I changed up the sketch.  That is the point of a sketch, you can just use it as a starting point and change things up to fit your pictures and style.  So I added this focal picture below the photo strip,  I not only matted my photo with patterned paper, but I also layered the tickets from the game on the page too.  I then added all of my journaling next to the photo.  This pretty much filled up the lower patterned paper area, so I moved my title to the top of the page and moved my embellishment clusters around the page too.

Disney Girls

I had so much fun joining in on my second on-line crop.  This one was again hosted by the SG Scrap Squad on Facebook.  I was only able to play along live on day 1 which was a Friday.  This was the very first challenge...create a 2-page layout in any theme.  I had this layout part way done, so I finished it up.  I love how this layout came out, especially since these are the only photos I have of my sister and I went we went to Disneyland over 20 years ago!

Lucky Us

I created this layout for another challenge that was a part of the online crop hosted by SG Scrap Squad on Facebook.  For this challenge we had to create a layout using FIVE different pieces of green patterned paper and only use 1 accent color.  I ended up using black as my accent color.  I really love how simple this layout is and how quickly it came together.  The challenge was finding out how little green supplies I actually have.  My favorite part...the fact that I was able to use several pieces of 6x6 patterned paper that have been sitting in my stash for several years.  How awesome!!

Good Times on the Court

I finally managed to finish scrapping about my daughter's time on a basketball team while in second grade.  This is one of those layouts that has been sitting around waiting for me to get to it.  I can't say that I love how this turned out, but it is another layout done.

Determined to Succeed (Scrap Our Stash)

Can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the book cover that is up this month for the book inspired challenge at Scrap Our Stash?  I mean seriously, it reminds me of my scrapbook space and I adore those colors!  My scrap space isn’t what I ended up creating a layout about, but I would look at the picture of the book cover and just smile, the whole time I was working on this page.
SOS 3-1-16
I was really inspired by the colors in the book cover, they really are some of my favorite colors!  The book also reminded me of a desk, and I remembered this photo I had taken of my daughter working hard on school work.  I had no problem adding gold letters and embellishments to my layout, I seriously have a ton of gold stuff in my stash.  The book has lots of layers between everything on the desk, so that inspired me to add lots of layers on my page, which really works.

Prom: 2001

I have been dipping into pictures from when I was a child and even teenager lately.  When I was playing along with the Super Bowl On-line Crop with SG Scrap Squad on Facebook I decided to use these two pictures of my Senior Prom to go with an ingredient challenge.  There were certain areas that we needed to use so I picked:

Category 1: Patterned Paper

Category 2: Cut File

Category 3: Enamel Shapes, Washi Tape, Sequins, Wood Veneer, Letter Stickers, Chipboard

Category 4: Mist

I seriously just adore this layout!  It has quickly become one of my favorites lately…of course I love the fact that it features me and my hubby right after we started dating Smile.

Hello Here Comes Trouble

I was a little unsure about this challenge at the Super Bowl On-line crop with the SG Scrap Squad, I don’t do that many two page layouts, but I decided to give it a try.  We were to create a two page layout from the two page sketch in the September 2015 issue of the Create Magazine put out by Scrapbook Generations. I loved that I could mix so many different patterns across the bottom of the layout, so I thought it would be perfect with these fun pictures of my scrappy weekend last year.  I changed up some of the picture sizes on the bottom part of the page, since I already had these photos printed, but I have to say that I just LOVE how it all turned out!

Seriously I Adore You Today (Stuck?! Sketches)

Have you seen the new sketch challenge up at Stuck?! Sketches today?  Laura has created yet another fabulous sketch.  We also have two fabulous sponsors for this challenge…the first is a $20 Gift Card to www.shopevalicious.com  (they have the cutest stickers, flair and wood veneer) and a prize pack from Wycinanka.  I hope you will head over to the blog to see what the other designers created…and make sure to play along for your chance to win!
Stuck 3-1-16
Overall my layout looks a lot like the sketch, but my photos were larger, so I made the various layers larger too.  I also moved the title so I could add my lengthy journaling.  I then added a few project life cards by my photos, so i ended up rounding the corners of the patterned paper strips too.
