Let's Do This

I have never been one that was all that willing to try new things, but that all started to change a few years ago.  Now most weekends we try a new breakfast recipe that we make together as a family.  I love this time that we are able to spend together.  I have recently started documenting these new meals and have been making layouts about them.  I have to say that I love how this layout came together with scraps that I grabbed from my drawers.

Love Happy You

I am taking some time today to just relax and getting some scrapping done.  I finally had some time so I decided to play along with the sketch challenge on the Imaginisce Blog.  I loved the sketch that Laura created and grabbed some of the Imaginisce goodies that I have from the Happy Traveler line to create this fun page.

Best Day (The ScrapRoom)

I have another new project up on the blog over at The ScrapRoom today.  This is another layout that mixes the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit with the Project Life Kit.  I love how the two kits play so nicely together!

The colors in this line from Jillibean Soup make me so happy! For this layout I used the patterned papers from the May Patterned Paper Add-On Kit and paired it with the project life cards and stickers from the May/June Project Life kit. I really loved that the enamel dots from My Mind's Eye (also in the Project Life kit) match the colors in papers from Jillibean Soup. I used three project life cards on this page and they are the "Best Day Ever" card, the Happy card (that I cut into the banner shape) and the cute teal coffee cup that I cut from a third card.

The Best Day for Family & The Boys We Adore (The ScrapRoom)

Did you know that The ScrapRoom not only has a blog but that they also have a Facebook Group?  It is a great group of ladies that love sharing their work and a place to chat.  They also have challenges each and every month to play along with.

This first layout is for the Freaky Fast Friday (FFF) challenge.  The challenge starts with a list of sizes to cut your patterned paper.  You then grab some pictures and just move the layers around until you love it.  From there you add your embellishments, title, etc.  And of course share it with the group.  It always amazes me how the same measurements will look so different depending on who is putting them together!

On this layout I grabbed a piece of black cardstock from my stash for the base of my layout.  I then used the two pieces of On Trend 2 patterned paper by My Mind's Eye that comes in the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit for May to create this page.  I mixed in a 3x4 card from the May/June Project Life kit along with the enamel dots.  The gold heart and flowers among other embellishments were all fussy cut from various cards in both the Patterned Paper Add-On Kits and the Project Life Kit.  The letters in the title are from my stash.

I struggled with the FFF challenge for quite a while.  I even at one point changed out my photos get the the design to work better with my paper arrangement.  But in the end this is a layout that I now adore!

This layout isn't for any challenges.  I just loved the Attwell paper from Fancy Pants Designs that came in the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit and I knew it would the perfect masculine color and patterns to go with this photograph.  Everything on this page (except the grey cardstock) is all Fancy Pants Designs that come in the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit for May and the Project Life Kit for May/June.

I started with the 12x12 piece of wood grain paper and decided to layer on this grey cardstock from my stash.  Since I also wanted to use some of the other side of the wood grain paper, I cut out the middle section that would then be covered up with the cardstock.  This is a great way to get more use from your paper!  I then layered on pieces of the other sheet (both sides).  Right under and on top of the photo I added various Attwell sticky notes.  I finished off the page witht he title, wood heart and sequins that all came from my stash.  These sticky notes, that are a part of the Project Life kit for May/June includes so many sticky notes that I know they will be on many projects to come!

Hello School Bus Girl (Scrap Our Stash)

The sketch + challenge this month over at Scrap Our Stash is such a great sketch to use.  I changed up the number of photos and size of them.  I loved these four pictures of my silly daughter at the bus stop in the morning, so I just cropped them down to smaller vertical photo and kept the angled placement similar to the sketch.    From the list part of the challenge I used: My Mind’s Eye, Metal, Newsprint, Naples Yellow and Olive.

I hope that I have inspired you to try out this great challenge.  I can’t wait to see your creation!

May Pocket Pages for The ScrapRoom

It's that time again...the new kits are up over at The ScrapRoom.  These two pocket pages use the May/June Project Life kit.  These kits are packed full of the latest goodies.  Today I am sharing pocket pages, but I will be back on the 23rd with how to use the Project Life kit to create traditional layouts.

One of my favorite ways to use pocket pages is for times like this when I have a lot of photos that I like.  I took my daughter to a beautiful park when we had a some nice spring weather for a little mini photo shoot.  I left with over 100 photos and even after deleting a bunch I have enough to create a full album if I put them all on traditional pages.

With my daughter's grey and pink dress the colors in the My Mind's Eye On Trend 2 cards were a great match.  So many of these cards are just beautiful!  I even cut the heart and the phrase "Happy" from other cards to create my own embellishments for this page.  I also added the enamel dots from the kit and then finished off the page with two wood hearts from my stash.

The colors and designs on the Bella Blvd Let's Go Project Life cut apart sheet just pop off the page. I love the mix of colors and designs.  I had quite a few pictures that I wanted to use of my daughter's recent ATV ride and this collection was perfect!  I added some of the Fancy Pants Sticky Notes from the Attwell collection.  The letter, washi tape and date stamp are all from my stash.

Surrounded By Beauty (Stuck?! Sketches)

Memorial Day is quickly approaching here.  As soon as it gets here it makes me think of summer break.  May is totally a me month between Mother's Day and my birthday.  I love the celebrations and the nice weather.  I first saw this sketch right after my husband texted me a beautiful landscape photo when he was working.

When I saw the circle in the background the the circle mat behind the photo, I decided to do something a little bit different instead.  I took this circle cut file and filled various triangles with different pieces of patterned paper.  From there I layers some paper behind my photo and then added my title and embellishments to finish up my page.

Supplies - Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny, Basic Grey.  Cardstock: Coredinations. Digital Cutter and Software: Silhouette Cameo with Designer Edition Software.  Embellishments: Bella Blvd, Simple Stories, Kaisercrafts, Imaginisce, Studio Calico, Teresa Collins, Recollections, Doodlebug.

The Best

I decided to combine some left overs from my kits from The ScrapRoom to create this page.  I used the Project Life kit along with the Patterned Paper Add-On Kit for May.  I paired these fabulous supplies with a challenge for the SG Scrap Squad crop on Facebook.  This challenge (my fifth!) was to create a one-page layout based on the provided sketch from Scrapbook Generations.

A Breath of Fresh Air

I am back today with my fourth layout that I created as part of the crop in the SG Scrap Squad Facebook group.  This challenge was to create a two page layout based upon a provided sketch.  I really love how clean the Scrapbook Generations sketches are.  I love the variety of pictures sized on this page too!  I rearranged the order of the pictures to better work with the photos that I had.  Overall, I stuck close to the sketch with just the addition of some extra embellishments.

Always Love You

I am on a roll with the SG Scrap Squad crop on Facebook.  This is my third layout from the crop!  For this challenge we had to use items that spelled out the word BEACH from their list of items.  On this page I used:
B- Butterfly
E- Enamel Dots & Ephemera
A- Animal
C- Chipboard
H- Heart

Besides the background paper I only used paper from a 6x6 paper pad.  I love being able to create a whole page with the papers from the smaller stacks.  It is even better since I am trying to use up more of my stash this year!

You are So Loved

I have been trying to play along with the latest crop in the SG Scrap Squad facebook group.  It seemed fitting that the first challenge was to create any 2 page layout.  I won a prize during their last crop and in my box was a kit for this two page layout.  I had these awesome pictures from our visit to the tulip festival a few weeks ago and the colors worked perfectly together!

Love You (Scrap Our Stash)

When I first saw this book cover I was immediately inspired by the large heart and the theme of love.  So I started by stitching this large heart on my background cardstock and then cut a heart out of patterned paper to fit inside the stitching.  I wanted to keep with the pink color scheme of the cover and used patterned paper that has a focus on the pink side.  I finished up the layout with a title and some embellishments including that cute piece of chipboard with flowers printed on it.
I can’t wait to see what you create with this book cover challenge!

Girls are Grand (Stuck?! Sketches)

Happy May Day!  This is probably my favorite time of the year between the beautiful flowers, the sun shining and the warm (but not hot) temperatures.  I love all the bright colors in my photographed and that really gets me excited to scrap more.

Today is reveal day over at Stuck?! Sketches.  I have seen what the design team has created and I have to say it is pretty fabulous!  Our sponsors for this challenge are Scrap Much? and Wycinanka.  You can't win if you don't play along!!

I stayed close to the sketch with the exception of rotating the photo block and the layers behind them.  I had these two cute 4x6 pictures that I wanted to use. I decided to stick to a light pink, aqua and gold color scheme for the page.

Supplies - Patterned Paper: We R Memory Keepers, Pebbles.  Embellishments: American Crafts Thickers, Basic Grey, Heidi Swapp Stamp, Recollections, Kaisercrafts, Freckled Fawn, Studio Calico, Pebbles, Amy Tangerine.
