Every City has a Story - FFF Challenge (The ScrapRoom)

The ScrapRoom releases a variety of new kits each month.  It is always fun to see how the variety of kits can be combined to provide more supply options!  You can check out their blog for more inspiration from their design team.  If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month, also join us for chatter and tons of scrappy inspiration.

The Freaky Fast Friday is one of these challenges.  The ScrapRoom provides a list of measurements and you provide the supplies and the ideas.  You cut your papers to the corresponding sizes and then play around until you like the arrangement.  Add your photo(s), title, journaling and embellishments to finish off your page...Freaky Fast!

I wanted to do the FFF challenge this month especially when I saw how perfectly the measurements would work with the September/October Shots of Life Pocket Page kit.  I added the patterned paper from the September Patterned Paper Add-on kit to create this page.  After deciding on the placement of the paper and pictures it only took a few embellishments to finish off the page.  The great thing with the pocket sized cards is that they can easily be added to regular scrapbook layouts as journaling spots or titles, like I did on this page. Extra details like the double hears and the green banner strips can be cut from extra cards to create your own embellishments.  The puffy stickers, paper clip and enamel dots are all from the Shots of Life kit.  I added the extra word strips from a previous kit.

September Cards (The ScrapRoom)

Today I am sharing 4 cards that I made from the leftovers from the September Patterned Paper Add-On Kit, Doubleshot Kit and Semtember/October Shots of Life Kit from The ScrapRoom.
The kits are jammed pack with lots of goodies that make scrapping super fast and easy!  After I created my layouts for the month I decided to use some of the extras to create some fun cards.

Go. See. Do. (Stuck?! Sketches & Just Nick)

The birthday celebration at Stuck?! Sketches is continuing with the newest challenge.  This challenge is brought to you with Just Nick cut files.  Part of the Stuck?! Sketches design team worked with the Just Nick cut files to create fabulous layouts.

When I saw this large cut file in the Just Nick shop, I knew I wanted to use it on this page that features three photos from a day trip a few months ago.  When I decided to make this cut file my title and have it be really large, I knew I needed to adjust the cluster of photos, so flipped the sketch to the side and moved the cluster to the left side of the title.  I mixed and matched a few other Just Nick cut files and used them as my main embellishments.

Supplies - Patterned Paper: Simple Stories, Bella Blvd.  Cut File: Just Nick.  Digital Cutter and Software: Silhouette Cameo with Designer Edition Software.  Cardstock: American Crafts.  Flair: Accent Scrapbooking.  Enamel Dots: Made with perler beads.  Banner: Pretty Little Studio.

I would also like to take a moment to say goodbye to the Stuck?! Sketches design team.  I have been on this team for the last year and it has been such a wonderful experience to work with Laura.  Life is throwing me some curve balls right now, so have decided to cut back on my scrapbook time.  I know Laura will pick a fabulous new team and I will them all the success!  Keep checking back on the 1st and 15th of the month for some great new sketch challenges!

Wild Ride (The ScrapRoom)

The ScrapRoom releases a variety of new kits each month.  It is always fun to see how the variety of kits can be combined to provide more supply options!  You can check out their blog for more inspiration from their design team.  If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month, also join us for chatter and tons of scrappy inspiration.

The September kits from The ScrapRoom are jammed pack full of some really fun goodies!  For this page I combined the September/October Shots of Life Pocket Page kit with the September Patterned Paper Add-on Kit to create a traditional layout.  I cut up strips from the Pink Paislee and Dear Lizzy patterned papers and then used the cut apart sheets from Dear Lizzy that are in the Shots of Life kit as my title, journaling block and extra embellishments.  With a little bit of fussy cutting these cards make great extra embellishments for your pages.  I finished it off with the Echo Park enamel dots, Me & My Big Ideas paper clip, American Crafts puffy stickers from the Shots of Life kit.

Yay: Adventure Time (The ScrapRoom)

From the second I saw this page kit in my September Doubleshot Kit from The ScrapRoom I fell in love with it!  Each month The ScrapRoom hosts a Jump Start Sketch challenge on their blog.  Make sure to play along and link up your layout for a chance to win!  If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month.

I knew the colors of this page kit would look great with these photos from our summer trip to the town of Leavenworth, Washington.  It is a little town that has been styled to look like a German Bavarian town. Since my husband and I lived in Germany for three years we have been wanting to check out this town and get some delicious German food.  The town did not disappoint. I took so many beautiful pictures on our trip that I knew it would be impossible to narrow them down for just one page, so I decided to just pick out four when I saw the sketch.

I loved the white cardstock in the kit, because I can never have or use enough of the stuff.  The white background really allowed the colors to pop off the page.  I used the silver stars from the embellishments to create the circle in the sketch.  I then finished off the page with the cute banner from the kit and various stickers from the sticker sheet before finished it off with some ink splatters using spray ink in my stash.

Hello Sunshine (Scrap Our Stash)

Fall is such a beautiful time here in the Pacific Northwest.  Memories from summer are still fresh in my mind and make me want to use bright fun colors in my scrapbooking.  Although to be honest I always like to use bright fun colors! It is time for a new sketch + challenge from Scrap Our Stash!  I always find these challenges fun to do because I get to start with a sketch and then hunt through my stash for the extra goodies in the list.

For the sketch I decided to rotate the photo and paper cluster to the left.  As for the list, I used Air Balloons, Bella Blvd, Black, Chevrons, Canary.  I hope you find this sketch + challenge as much fun as I did and will play along with us.  I can’t wait to see what you create!

Wanderlust (Stuck?! Sketches)

Birthday month at Stuck?! Sketches is still in full swing.  I created another layout using a cut file from our sponsor Just Nick, and that project will be revealed in a few days.  For now I wanted to share this layout I made just using the sketch. If you have some free time on your hands, hopefully you will play around with the latest sketch that Laura has created for Stuck?! Sketches.  Make sure to link up your creation for a chance to win some fabulous prizes from our sponsors!

I loved the three little photos on this sketch and all the smaller bits of paper.  I decided to use a swag bag from an online store called Paper Issues on this page.  This one kit along with some Project Life Currently Collection embellishments pretty much finish up this page.  This page came together really quickly and it just makes me so happy!

Supplies - May Swag Bag from Paper Issues, Project Life Currently Collection die cuts, Echo Park, Imaginisce, Pretty Little Studio, Heidi Swapp.

Best Together (The ScrapRoom)

The ScrapRoom does a fabulous job of using a great mix of the newest collections in their kits!  Their blog is full of inspiration throughout the month using the various kits that they create.  If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month, the group is also full of chatter and layouts from the design team, subscribers and fans.

When I opened this page kit from the Doubleshot Kit I immediately loved the colors and patterns.  There is nothing better in my world then fun girly colors and papers.  This Photo Play collection came with a full 12x12 sticker sheet that provided just about all the embellishments that I used on this page.  I did add a doily and some homemade enamel style dots.  These paper have such fun colors and patterns that they seemed to be perfect with these photos of my mom and my daughter.

Hello Love (The ScrapRoom)

From the second I saw this page kit in my September Doubleshot Kit from The ScrapRoom I fell in love with it!  Each month The ScrapRoom hosts a Jump Start Sketch challenge on their blog.  Make sure to play along and link up your layout for a chance to win!  If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month.

This Crate Paper line that is in the Doubleshot Kit has been one of my favorites to work with.  The embellishments that are included are some of my favorite and in fact I only have a few stickers left!  I loved all the black and silver included in this set.  I added the paperclip (it is from the Shots of Life Pocket Page kit) because I love the black and white strip on the flag.  This is one of those pages that came together really fast and I love how it turned out!

September Pocket Pages for The ScrapRoom

The latest kits from The ScrapRoom have been revealed!  Each month The ScrapRoom has a variety of kits that can fit your every need.  Today I am here to show you two pocket pages that I created using the September/October Shots of Life Pocket Page Kit.  These pages are also on their blog. If you love challenges come and join the Facebook Group for a new set of challenges that are revealed the first week of each month, there is also fun chatter and lots of new inspiration every month.

So, I don’t have fall photos, but I thought these super cute Echo Park cards from the Shots of Life Pocket Page Kit for September/October would look great with the colors from these photos and the theme of family was a perfect match.  I cut apart some of the cards for extra embellishments, like that adorable fox.  I added some enamel dots, puffy stickers (hearts on the photo in the middle row) and a paper clip from the embellishment part of the kit to finish off the pocket page.

Photoplay made a really cute school collection and the cut apart sheets are in the Shots of Life Pocket Page kit for September/October.  Since there are pieces of this collection in the Flavors of the Month Kit and Patterned Paper Add-on kit the goodies in the Shots of Life kit will add lots of extra options for your pages.  I only used the cut apart sheets and a few enamel dots for this page.  I decided to have to focus be on all of the great sayings on these cards and my photos. This pocket page layout has 1 4x6 opening and the rest are 3x4, so I cut apart the 4x6 card in the middle and the 4x6 photo on the bottom row to work.  I love how it ended up looking and this is a great way to make the pocket system work for you.

Big Smile Champs (Scrap Our Stash)

September is here and that means it is back to school time around my house.  Although to be honest, only my daughter is going back to school since my husband and I have been working on our degrees all summer long!  This month’s book cover challenge at Scrap Our Stash is perfect for all of those school photos!  Make sure to add some book or dictionary paper to your page!

I took inspiration from the school theme and went with this group photo from my daughter’s school last year when they were named Think Through Math March Madness National Champs.  Since the book cover has lots of colors, I knew I wanted to make sure that I added lots of colors on my page.  Both the background paper and the horizontal strip of paper have text on them.  I can’t wait to see how this book cover will inspire you!

Those Eyes (Stuck?!)

School has started around here, so I am enjoying the quiet days and trying to get things done on my never ending to-do list.  If you have some free time make sure to head over to the Stuck?! Sketches blog to see what the design team has created.  We are having a month long celebrations, so head over to the blog for more information.  If you play along, make sure to link up your layout for a chance to win a prize from our sponsors, A2Z Scraplets and Lawn Fawn.

Here is another layout where I stayed pretty much exactly with the sketch.  I dug into my scraps from My Mind's Eye and found these goodies and paired it with a neutral background.  I decided to keep the embellishments in the red and aqua/teal colors that are in the patterned paper.

Supplies - Patterned Paper: Glitz, My Mind's Eye.  Embellishments: Pretty Little Studio, Recollections, Freckled Fawn, Jillibean Soup, Simple Stories, Basic Grey, Heidi Swapp, Pebbles, Shimelle, Doodlebug, Accent Scrapbooking (Flair).
