Another Valentine

So I made two Valentine's this year. One for the hubby and then one for my daughter. I saw this design on the Silhouette store and fell in love with it, so I knew just what I wanted to do for the other Valentine.

So I used the recollections cardstock to make the card. Then for all the cut outs I used my Quikutz pads that came with my Silhouette. It is 4x8 pieces of carstock with adhesive on the back, so I was able to just cut it all out and stick it on the card. Super easy and cute for my darling four-year-old daughter!

1 Hour Challenge Valentine

As I mentioned yesterday here is the layout I created during the 1 hour challenge over at Club CK. Now this card took me only about 20 minutes, and that is because that was all the time I had. See about 10 minutes into the challenge my wonderful husband called me from work because he locked his keys in the car. So I had to drop everything and head over to unlock the car for him. By the time I made it back home I had about another 10 minutes to finish this card and get it posted before the challenge ended. But even with all of that I really love how the card came out!

The papers are from Fancy Pants and Echo Park. I cut the hearts out by hand and put them on a Recollections cardstock card blank that I made. After attaching the hearts together I pierced holes to sew the layers together. For a little sentiment I added the love stamp from Basic Grey and to tie everything together I stitched around the heart for some more detail.

Pre-School Layout

I used a Scrapbook Generation sketch as the starting pointfor this layout. The papers and bradsare all from My Mind’s Eye. The twine is from Technique Tuesday. I cut the title and banner on my Silhouetteusing designs from their store. I used an EK Success border punch on the pink& white striped paper. For the journalingcard I used one that I found for free on Pinterest.

I used a Page Maps sketch for this layout. The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye. I cut the title out on the Silhouette using adesign from their store. The all pink flower is from Oriental Trading. The other flowers are from my stash (I think Making Memories and Imaginisce). I also used an EK Sucess border punch. I then used my Sew Easy to add the scallops with DMC floss and then added bling from Want 2 Scrap.

Get Whale Soon Card

One of Army buddies just had surgery so we wanted to send him a get well card and this is what I came up with. I got the idea from the Best of Card Creations Book.

I used a DCWV stack for all the patterned paper. I cut the whale and wave on the Silhouette. The buttons are from my stash (I think from Making Memories). The brown stickers are from Echo Park. The word "whale" is done using American Craft Thickers.

I created the title using my Silhouettesoftware. I love how it turned out! I also cut the journaling shape on theSilhouette. I used my stitch templatesfrom Oriental Trading to add the flourishes.

I added stickles to the word “You’re” in the title and theladybugs. I cut the title on theSilhouette using a design from theirstore. I hand stitched a circle with DMCfloss. I used sketch #26 from Frosted Designs for this layout. The paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle. The lace trim and lace appliqué were given tome by my mother-in-law. I sprayed theappliqué with purple Glimmer Mist tomatch the layout. The jewel flowers arefrom Prima, the light purple flower is from Oriental Trading, the other floweris from my stash along with the heart brad. I cut the title on the Silhouetteusing a design from their store. Thejournaling card is one that I printed for free.

I created this layout using three different challenges. The sketch is from Sketches: CreativelyYours. I used pink twine from TheTwinery for the Frosted Designs Friday Challenge. I also used white cardstock as the base of mylayout for the Scrap Fit Workout #61.

Laugh Layout (Frosted Designs Challenge)

I used a Scrapbook Generation sketch for this layout. I created this layout for the Frosted Designsrecipe challenge (3 patterned papers, 2 buttons & 1 word title). I started with kraft cardstock fromRecollections that I sprayed with white Mister Huey by Studio Calico. The patterned papers are from Echo Park. The ric-rac is from my stash. The purple flowers are from Prima and Isprayed them with purple Glimmer Mist. The buttons are from Oriental Trading. I cut the title on the Silhouette using a design from KerriBradford. I added hand stitching withDMC floss and a stitch template from Oriental Trading. The journaling card is from Maya Road.

I used this week’s sketch over at Sketches: CreativelyYours. I rotated the sketch and movedthe circles around until it suited my pictures better. I love using sketches as a jumpingpoint. It can be a lot of fun to alter asketch to fit your style.

I used the Ad Lib patterned papers by Bo-Bunny for thislayout. The rhinestone flower is fromBasic Grey. I cut the title on theSilhouette using a design from their store that I then changed to create thesecond layer. The flower trim is fromJo-Ann’s. And as a final touch I addedsome hand sewing with my Sew Easy and DMC floss.

I used the new sketch at Let’s Capture These Sketches forthis layout. The cardstock is from mystash (free at the CK Convention a couple of years ago). The patterned papers and title are from MyMind’s Eye. The flower is from OrientalTrading. The butterfly is fromRecollections. The metal trim is from Jo-Ann’s (bottom of page) the ric-rac isfrom Fancy Pants (I believe) and the ribbon is from my stash...I think it isfrom Michael’s. I used two stitchingtemplates from Oriental Trading to pierce the design on my layout beforestitching it by hand with DMC floss.

This sketch was a lot of fun to work with and I love howthis layout came out!

I was inspired to do this series of layouts by NicholMagouirk. I loved the idea especiallyafter doing P365 during my husband’s third deployment. So for this layout I used patterned paperfrom My Mind’s Eye. The cardstock isfrom Bazzill (black) and Recollections (kraft). I cut the title, flowers and brackets on the Silhouette. The trim is from Fancy Pants. The bling is from my stash. I then used my sew easy to add some zig-zagstitching.

The funny thing about this layout is that I did the MarchLayout quite a while ago and when I put this one in the album I discovered thatI used the same flower paper on both. OOPS!!

Winter Storm

So last week we had a bad winter storm come through our area and my hubby had three days off from work while my daughter had those same three days off from school. So I actually didn't get any scrapping done! Luckily we only lost power once for a couple of hours. So I thought I would take this chance to share some of my favorite pics from our several days in the snow. However, when the freezing rain started and ice built up we had to stay inside because of all the breaking branches! Also, the ice started after we had 8 inches of snow!

Scrap Fit Weekend Challenge #23

I started out with a Scrapbook Generation Volume 1sketch. I only used the left side of thesketch and flipped it around to work with my photograph. I used a kraft background because it not onlywent with my pictures but it is also the Scrap Fit Weekend Warm-UpChallenge. I have been using kraft papera lot more in the last several months. I used the Fancy Pants It’s the LittleThings collection. I cut the title outon the Silhouette using one of their designs. I loved working with the rub-ons from this collection. The bling is from Zva.

The Paper Bakery Sketch Challenge

So I stumbled across this cool kit club on Facebook and found out they are having a sketch challenge right now. I love sketches! So I just had to see what I could do with it. You can find the sketch here. While doing this challenge I also decided to combine it with the Weekly Layout challenge on Club CK, which is a color inspiration challenge. So here is my layout.

I used my Fancy Pants Love Birds collection for all the patterned paper and the stickers on this layout. I cut the title and the heart border on my Silhouette. The title is from their store and the heart banner is a freebie from Kerri Bradford (I just love her designs!). The journaling card was another freebie that I found on Pinterest. The wood heart and butterfly are from Studio Calico. For the butterfly I inked it with some Studio G ink and then sprayed it with some Perfect Pearls Mist. The felt heart trim is from my stash (I think Making Memories,but not sure...). The yellow ribbon is also from my stash, it was just a little scrap I had laying around.

The title is made up ofstickers from various Echo Park lines. Iused an EK Success border punch. Theflourishes were drawn with a template from Crafter’s Workshop and two sharpiepens. The jewels are from Queen &Company. The rhinestone hearts are fromOriental Trading and I filled two with beads and one with heart confetti from aset of vials. The flowers are from apiece of white trim I bought at Jo-Ann’s and sprayed with Glimmer Mist. I used my Martha Stewart paper scorer for thetrim under the vertical picture on the right page.

I am a basket addict...

I have just realized that I am obsessed with storing my scrapbook supplies in baskets. Right now I have 8 different baskets holding a variety of supplies. It seems whenever I get the urge to re-organize something in my scrap space it will involve a basket. I love how everything is contained in one spot, but that I can also still see my pretty supplies. Now I will admit that I use other storage options too, but it seems like the baskets are what I am drawn too. So I thought I would share the photographic proof of my obsession....

I think this is the third or fourth way I have stored my stamps. I have tried binders, but didn't really like it. Then they were laying down in plastic drawers, but got tired of that too. So now I am trying a basket. I do have a reference binder that I have stamped all the images in for quick reference.

I love having my border punches (and paper crimper) all in one place.

The polka dot baskets holds my scraps that I make while scrapping until I get them filed away. This really helps to keep my desk cleared off. The pink basket holds all my journaling cards. I also cut up the sheets from Bo Bunny & Echo Park when I am down to just scraps from the collection. Before this they were in a clear drawer, but it was hard to look through them all.

All my Thickers! I just moved these to this basket too. These were in another large plastic drawer, but I wanted a drawer for my full size sticker sheets (the 12x12 ones). Plus seeing the Thickers make me smile!

This is a basket of all my blank mini albums. All of these are just waiting for me to create something with them.

This is where I store my blank cards and even the finished ones too. I really need to buy some more when my spending freeze is over.

I bought a TON of these tags for a Christmas project and decided to store all the rest in a pretty basket. I am hoping to create some more fun stuff with these, but right now I am just enjoying scrapping again!

And finally I have all my small paper pads in another basket. I think I might need to get busy and start using these up making cards. I don't seem to use them as much as I thought I would.

Cute Face Layout

This layout was from the Quick & Classy with My Mind’sEye class at the 2011 CK Convention. Irotated the smaller picture and then added the word “face” with Thickers. I also added the butterfly fromRecollections.

I still have a few unfinished layouts from the last CK Convention I went to and my goal is to get them finished up and into the scrapbooks in the next few months.

Soak up the Sun

I used a Valerie Salmon sketch for this layout. The paper and embellishments are from EchoPark. I cut the title on the Silhouette using a design in their store. I then finished up the layout with somestitching using my Sew Easy.

I love spending time at the Club CK message board. They always have some great challenges going on. One of my goals this year is to participate in them more. So the January Issue Challenge #3 was to use stickers in your journaling. So I just had to give it a try with this layout. I really love how it turned out!

You are my Favorite Layout (Scrap Fit Challenge)

I was inspired to make this layout from two places. The first was from the Scrap Fit challenge#60: Scrap something that means the most and a sketch from Page Maps. The Page Maps sketch was a two page sketch,but I just used the right hand side. Thecardstock is from DCWV. The patternedpapers, bird stickers, title and journaling card are all from Echo Park. The heart bling is from OrientalTrading. The flower flourish is fromZva. The doily is from my stash. The ric-rac trim is from the sewingdepartment at Jo-Ann’s. I also made abow using ribbon in my stash.

I started this layout with a two page sketch from ScrapbookGeneration’s Volume 1 of sketches and just used the left side of the layout andchanged it to use two photos. Thecardstock is from Bazzill & Recollections. The patterned papers are from OctoberAfternoon. I used a stitch template fromOriental Trading for the flourishes and then stitched them using DMC floss. The journaling shape is from Maya Road. I created the title on my Silhouette usingtwo designs from their store and then creating an outline for the secondlayer. The buttons are from mystash. I created the flower using thepeal roller tool from Imaginisce using a specialty paper from Jo-Ann’s.

Christmas Card Organization Idea

I love to keep the cards that we receive each Christmas, butwas feeling a little overwhelmed. Then Isaw this idea on Pinterest and had to give it a shot. I just used my Crop-a Dile Big Bite to punchtwo holes in each card and then added the binder rings. Well, when I got more than one little book ofcards, I knew I needed some way to tell them apart so I designed the coversheets in Photoshop Elements using free digital elements I downloaded a LONGtime ago. I then just printed it out on4x6 photo paper and added it to the front.

I have now also done this with my daughter’s first birthdaycards and then all the cards since then. It is such a cute storage idea!

I was inspired by the layout on the cover of the July/Augustissue of Creating Keepsakes and from that layout I created mine. I used paper from Basic Grey Olivier andOlivia collections. I cut the banner on the Silhouette along with the titlethat I designed. I used an EK Successborder punch on the blue paper. The woodbuttons are from Oriental Trading and so is the stitching template I used forthe flourish. I then stitched it withDMC floss. I used white Mister Hueyspray ink behind the banner at the top of the layout. The cardstock is from Doodlebug, Bazzill andfrom my stash.
